Adding a user to Planhat is designed to be simple, fast, and secure! Follow the steps below to get your new user up and running in no time!

Adding a new user

Adding a new user can be done via the User object that can be found on the Data module, or from the User tab in the Team section under the Settings menu.

For the User object, click the + found in the top left-hand corner. This will allow you to begin the creation of your new user. (See screenshot below)

The second way this can be done is by using the User tab in the Team section, click on Add user found in the top right corner.

(Click on your avatar lower Left > Team > Users)

Note: If you do not see the User object within the data table view, click the chevrons to expand the missing objects!

Add the user's email that they would be using and hit the next button!

User Details

From here you can now give your user a role, enter their details, and invite!

User Details

Most importantly you will need to give your new user a Display Name, First Name, and Surname.

Roles

You can give the user a role, these will be the permissions they have and defines the level of access the user has in Planhat. Any custom roles you may have set up will also appear here!

More Settings

This section allows you to fill in more fields including any custom user field you may have, note these do not have to be filled in at creation and can be done later by the user if needed!

Invite!

Once all the details are done and a role has been selected it is now time to Save the user and either send an invite straight away to get the user going or save the user to activate when you are ready!

If you are ready to get this user in Planhat ASAP, mark the check box to "Yes" and hit the "Create and Send Invite". This will activate the User account and send an email to the email that was used for them to set a password.

You can also select "No" which will not send an email to the User but still allow you to save the new user in Planhat and have either the user profile activated or deactivated for later!

Note:

  • Only users with admin access can add new users (although this permission can be customized to include other roles too)

  • You can also create users via our API - contact your CSM/TAM to hear more!
