What is "Customer Status"?

"Customer Status" is a system field (default field) on the Company model (object) that displays the status of the Company, which is automatically determined by the Company's License information.

(Note that if you've just updated the License information for a Company, you may need to refresh your browser to see the Customer Status field update accordingly.)

You can view the Customer Status on a Company Profile (example shown below) and the Data Module.

"Customer Status" values and when they are assigned

Here we list the different possible values of the "Customer Status" field, along with an explanation of why a Company would be assigned each status. We've illustrated the situations with example screenshots - remember that you can click them to enlarge them so you can read the text πŸ˜ƒ.

  • "prospect" - there are no Licenses mapped to the Company

  • "coming" - a License with the status "ongoing" is starting in the future

  • "customer" - the Company has an "ongoing" License today

    • πŸ“Œ Note that the License must have a value, even if it's 0, to trigger this status

  • "canceled" - the last License of the Company has been marked as "lost" or "renewed" (i.e. not "ongoing") and will end in the future

    • πŸ“Œ You would also see this if there is an ongoing License but it has no value (by which we mean "-" rather than "0"), so you should ensure you give each License a value when you create it

  • "lost" - the last License of the Company was marked as "lost" and it has already ended

Viewing "Customer Status" within Planhat

  • The Company Profile screenshots above show "Customer Status" as a "featured field" (i.e. showing in the black panel on the left-hand side). If it isn't a featured field in your tenant but you would like it to be, follow these steps:

    1. A pre-requisite is you need to have the "Admin access" permission to be able to access field management in your tenant

    2. Put your mouse over your avatar (initial/picture in the bottom left) and click "Fields"

    3. Ensure the "COMPANIES" tab is selected, and search for "Customer Status"

    4. Click on the field, select the "Featured" checkbox, and click "Update"

  • To view this field in the Data Module, ensure you are in the "COMPANIES" tab, and that "Customer Status" is selected as a column in your data table
