Setting "Conditions" on Fields, Success Units and Calculated Metrics means that the data will only be visible if the condition that you set has been met. This provides you with a huge amount of flexibility π! Each of your customers are unique and it makes sense to only display the data that is relevant to each account.
In short, you can use "Conditions" to choose where you want your Fields, Success Units and Calculated Metrics to be displayed.
With the use of examples, we're going to show you how to set your own conditions on Fields, Success Units and Calculated Metricsπ .
Fields
Create a new field like you normally would, (if you're not sure how to do that, check out this article: Managing Fields) then at the bottom you will see the option "show advanced", click there and you can set conditions.
Example: we want to display "Churn Prevention" notes on our customer profiles who have a health score of less than '4'.
Create a new field called "Churn Prevention" with a data type of 'text'.
Ensure the field is "Featured" because we want it to appear on our customer profiles.
Set our condition which is simply "Health" - "less than" - "4" (you can also refer to the GIF below to see how I set this up).
Result: we have the option to add "Churn Prevention" notes onto company profiles where the health score is less than '4'. Any company with a health score of '4' or higher will not have the "Churn Prevention" field available, cool, right? π
π A field that is not visible because field conditions are not met, can still have a value - set before conditions were applied, or set from the Data Module
Success Units
Setting conditions on Success Units is quick and simple to do! Let's say you have a Phase called "Adoption" and you have created a few Success Units to measure customer Adoption (check out this article if you're not sure how to setup Success Units), for example:
Activity count.
Active in the past 7 days.
Logins per day.
Today these Success Units are visible for every phase not just the "Adoption" phase as you intended. To resolve this, when you're creating a Success Unit, click "show advanced" at the bottom of the page and then add a condition in. As you can see in the image below, we have added the condition "Phase" - "equal to" - "Adoption".
Result: The Success Units with this condition will only be displayed on accounts that are in the "Adoption" phase π.
Calculated Metrics
There are many reasons why you might want to display specific calculated metrics on a select number of company profiles.
An example of this would be if you had multiple products (Product A and Product B) and you wanted to display product usage on a company profile. For "Product A" you only want to see the usage for that specific product, you don't want to see the usage for "Product B". To make sure we're only seeing the relevant calculated metrics based on the product we must use "Conditions".
For example, you can see in the image below the company "Exxon" are using "Product A" so when we view Exxon's company profile page, we only want to view the usage data for "Product A".
We're creating a calculated metric called "Product A - Usage" and to make sure this only appears on company profiles who are using "Product A" we need to add a condition in. To add a condition, at the bottom of the calculated metric page, you will see the option "show advanced", click on that and then you will see the option to add conditions. For this example, I only want my "Product A - Usage" metric displayed when the "Product Category" is equal to "Product A" so I have added that exact condition into my calculated metric as you can see in the image below.
Result: The "Product A - Usage" calculated metric will only be visible on company profiles who are using "Product A" π.
