Depending on your business structure and how you've set up your Planhat instance, there could be a user with the same email that needs to be a user in multiple accounts.Β
When you have this situation (multiple end-users with the same email address, on multiple different companies), by default Planhat will assign the activity at random to one of the end users. To avoid this, you can include either the companyId or companyExternalId in the payload to direct to the correct end user on the correct company.
However, sometimes you'd like all activities relating to a given email address to go onto the same end user, on the same company, every time. That's where the primary
toggle comes in. To set this up:
Go to the account you'd like that user to have as their 'primary'
Go to the End Users tab
Click on the user in question
Enable 'Primary' label
Planhat will now start using this as:
The primary account to track all the user's associated activity going forward! π
An extra weighting when assigning emails (read more here)
Note however that the Primary flag does NOT impact calendar event assignment in the case of endusers from multiple companies being involved.
Important to note here that past activities cannot retroactively get assigned.
