1. Filtering Data on Pages and Elements
You can always use the Search Bar at the top of the Page to filter by any Company, Filter, Owner or Field, but in addition, Pages can have a default filter that applies to all Elements by default. To change it, got to the Page menu in the top right corner.
π£ Pro tip: You can set a Filter per element, either from the element's context menu (right click) or from the element edit form (button on top of the chart).
βπ Important to note: As always, data access is also subject to the user's portfolio access permissions.
2. Layers & Selection
With pages you have the freedom to position elements on top of each other, which allows you to create stunning data presentations.
From the element's context menu (right click) you can:
move it back or forward,
either shift the position one layer at a time, or
move it to the very back/front at once.
To select multiple elements at once, just click and drag over the area containing the elements.
π£ Pro tip: You can also select or deselect multiple elements by pressing the shift key before clicking an element.
π Important to note: Just like in a PowerPoint you cannot click to select an element that is covered by another element, since some elements can have transparent backgrounds this may not always be obvious.
3. Sharing
This feature did not change and you can still share Pages:
Internally with your team
Externally
Via Customer Portals
However, now when you share externally the layout for the recipient matches the field layout you see in Planhat.
4. Scaling and Mobile
With Pages we have also parted ways with the old, boring and limiting dashboard grids completely changing the look depending on device isn't possible.
Instead Planhat pages continuously and proportionally scale with screen size, just like a PDF or an Image would.
π Important to note: The only exception to this scaling is the chart labels and scales which maintain their text size.
5. Colors & Palettes
In addition to systems color palettes, Admins can create custom color palettes (Settings > General) to be used on Pages.
You can set the default palette for a page from Page Menu (top right) > Settings.
Specific elements can still override this and use some other palette.
From the Colors menu (bucket icon in the toolbar) you can set both the widget background color, and for charts, the starting color of the bars, segments, etc.
To completely customize the colors of your charts, in the element edit form, most charts allow you to create custom segments, ideal for things like health and NPS charts.
π Important to note: Palettes are specifically for created Pages, these will not affect the overall UI colors across Planhat π
